To cater to the range of knowledge and resources in health and safety and ergonomics, we have created three parallel collections of resources for prevention of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD), called the Quick Start (General and Office), Basic and Comprehensive Guidelines.

Do you have a management system for Health and Safety?

Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) is defined as “a coordinated system of procedures, processes and other measures that is designed to be implemented by employers in order to promote continuous improvement in occupational health and safety.”  You can find more information about OHSMS at the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development website

Organizations with 6 or more employees in Ontario are required to have a Health and Safety policy and program. Start here and work towards integrating the Basic Guideline once the health and safety policy are in place.
