Ergonomics can influence businesses’ bottom line with the prevention of injures also impacting productivity, product quality, and worker engagement.
CRE-MSD has a new resource available called the ‘Ontario Ergonomics Intervention Cost-Benefit Calculator’ that uses injury cost data from Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) to calculate the annual savings and payback period for ergonomics interventions. To use the calculator, you will input injury data for your organization over the last three years, cost of each potential solution, type of solution, estimated productivity improvements, and any other cost savings associated with each intervention.
